Denta : Application for Dental practice management system

Objective: To develop an advanced dental practice management application designed to streamline and enhance the operational efficiency of dental practices. This application will empower dental professionals to manage schedules, organize appointments and facilitate effective patient communication, all from a single, integrated platform.

Role: UX design, Wireframing, Visual design

Project nature: Conceptual

Duration: 3 weeks

Problem:

  • Need a recognition and effectively personalized promotion of the clinic and connection with patients.

  • Scheduling issues, such as under booking and overbooking, lead to inefficient use of time and extended wait times for patients, respectively.

  • Disruptions in a dentist’s schedule occur when patients do not show up or cancel appointments without prior notice.

Solution:
  • A feature of Automated Appointment Reminders to reduce no-shows and last-minute cancellations.

  • Booking Appointent with Dynamic Scheduling Tool to manage resources and time efficiently.

  • Personalized Patient Engagement with offers of discounted checkups.

Design Process:

The project began with a comprehensive onboarding with client call to understand the clinic and its requirement and their desired features.
Followed by an extensive competitor research to identify areas for improvement and features of interest contextual inquiry and analyzing the gathered data and creating user persona.

Patients can access the application by following these steps:

​First, they will receive a link to the application from their doctor via SMS or WhatsApp text. They should open the link in a web browser, which will direct them to the clinic's application page. Patients may need to create an account. Once on the application page, they can download and install the app by following the provided instructions. If they encounter any issues, they should consult the clinic's doctor for help.

Booking Appointment
 

1.Select the type of treatment for your appointment (note: treatment list will be shown only which are provided in the clinic).

If you're unsure, you can click "Others" for additional options.

2. Select date and slot for the appointment. (It will only show slots which are available)

3. Enter Patient's details.

4. Confirm the booking details.​

Message 
 

You can message your dentist personally through this application to get one-on-one communication.

Profile
 

The application includes a feature to edit your profile and add new members.

Doctor's interface
 

The dentist logs into the appointment management application, where they quickly review the day's schedule. They can track patient appointments, patients' , clinic , noting any special requests or treatment plans.

Next, they navigate to the appointment details to records section to prepare dental records for patients. After selecting the relevant files, they securely package the information for release, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. The entire process is streamlined, enhancing efficiency and patient care.

Messaging feature provides the following:​

 1.Personalization​

  • Customize Content: Tailor messages based on the patient's history, such as previous treatments or preferences. 

2. Appointment Reminders

  • Timely Notifications: Send reminders a few days before the appointment to ensure they remember.

3. Treatment Information​

  • Post-Care Instructions: Share aftercare tips if the message relates to a treatment.

4. Engagement Features

  • Interactive Options: Allow patients to ask questions directly through the message interface.

  • Feedback Requests: After appointments, request feedback on their experience to improve services.

Further iterations with the application enhance both user and patient interfaces.
  • If Clinic consist of more doctors a interface to select doctor from the list.

  • Bringing Payment Gateway, currently the Income feature only gets details from bill value and mode of payment.

  • An AI chatbot for messaging to streamline communication and save the doctor's time."
